Self Care Time Out

on
May 28, 2019
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. My apologies for the longer-than usual silence. This healing business is a bit of an emotional bumpy ride. I’m therefore taking a bit of a timeout for self care. For the content I create, it means I aim to post once monthly– with more targeted pieces. On social media, I will continue micro-blogging about my daily life — but the direction of lisalondon.com will be focused on supporting women going through challenging life transitions. For this transition, I only have one favor to ask: Please update your subscriber preferences so that you hear from me in the way that you want. This will help us both get more of the abundance that the Universe has to offer.

Why It Makes Sense to Fiddle in a Life Crisis

on
April 25, 2019
Relaxing through the ups and downs of this divorce has been a process like no other. As a yoga guide, meditation practitioner, and a believer in prayer - I have all the tools at my disposal to make a graceful exit from this Boeing jet. Still, there are days after I’ve gone though my morning routine that I still feel wound up. Hello anxiety, depression, anger ... my long lost friends. Where have you been?!!

Weekly Issue No°3 – Water Guns and Wu wei as Weapons of Choice

on
April 16, 2019
Happy New Year (again). It’s Songkran in Thailand, a festival celebrating the traditional Thai New Year, held in April and marked by the throwing and sprinkling of water. On Koh Tao island it was thankfully limited to one-day, during which I voluntarily sequestered myself. I know what you’re thinking--girl, that’s extreme; or you’re just getting old(er). The latter is true - we are all getting older; the former, not so! The epidemiologist in me will not allow myself to be splashed with water from random, suspect water sources. Fleeing the water guns led me to a day of sea-gazing, reconnected me to the practice of Wu wei, effortless action.

Banana Nut Breakfast Smoothie

on
April 15, 2019
Here is a great breakfast smoothie idea! If you are looking for a meal replacement smoothie then this recipe is for you. The rolled oats make it easy to add fiber to your smoothie without a ton of calories. I like to soak mine in a cup of water in the fridge before blending to soften them and give my smoothie an even smoother texture. I’m a peanut butter fanatic as always you can ditch the peanut butter, or replace with cacao or some other flavor that will make this breakfast smoothie yummy to you. With the rolled oats and flax seeds hunger is guaranteed to miss well until the afternoon.

Trust your body, it reacts to right and wrong more than your mind does. It’s speaking to you~ Rupi Kaur

Weekly Issue No°2 – What the Cat on my Terrace Taught Me About Setting Boundaries

on
April 7, 2019
I'm settling into my flat and have a regular visitor whom I call Cat. This week I practiced boundary setting with Cat who at first thought he could barge his way into my chambers and roll around on my yoga mat without consequence. I coronated Smoothie as the seventh food group and am geeking out on flax seeds.
