Lisa London
Koh Tao Island, Thailand

Welcome to my journey of discovery, healing and radical self love. I’m in the process of divorce and I’m using this blog to share my experiences through all the places, things I see around the world. So far I have traveled to more than 50 countries on four continents, and counting. I am a 500 HR Yoga Teacher, and Strala Guide trained by American yogi, Tara Stiles, founder of Strala Yoga. I received a master’s in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and a master’s in Anthropology from the School of Oriental & African Studies. I now live on the island of Koh Tao, Thailand, where I guide yoga and seize opportunities for personal growth that I willingly share with those around me. Follow my blog and discover my renewal through food, travel, and yoga.

Weekly Issue No°1 – Hi from Koh Tao Island

on
April 1, 2019
Hello from Koh Tao Island, Thailand. I’ve been struggling to find a way to keep all of my friends, family and readers up to date with what’s happening in my life. I’ve decided to publish a digest with the coolest things that I’ve found or pondered upon in the previous week. In Weekly Issue No° 1 you will see that my nomadic wanderings have considerably slowed down. I now live on Koh Tao Island, in a nice flat cooled by ceiling fans. It backs up to a jungle-like area and I'm still not sure why I don't have mosquitos. I motor bike everywhere and keep island time. Although the island is small, there is so much to discover. This week I conquered my fear of going down steep hills, found a zero waste store, and got addicted to peanut butter kale smoothies.

Kale, Peanut Butter and Goji Smoothie

on
March 29, 2019
I’ve been about a week on Koh Tao island and I accidentally joined the cult of Crossfit. Yep, the yoga guide has crossed over to the dark side. I kid, I kid. Each morning I rouse myself at 6 am-ish, do my 20 minute meditation, and start blending baby. This Kale, Peanut Butter and Goji recipe is one of my favorite go-tos that kickstart my day.

Here’s to Big Ships in the Night

on
March 3, 2019
I’m living a dream that I had about 3 years ago. I will never forget it. At the time I thought it was about my PhD, but now I know it was about my marriage-divorce. I dreamt that it was a dark stormy night. I was on a massive ship in the middle of a stormy ocean. I found myself on the deck with the crew. They were telling me that I had to jump.

The Thing About Balance

on
February 24, 2019
Balance is a tricky business. Forget all the images you see of people sitting in lotus pose, with their sage, candles and mudras. Living in a state of balance requires macro decisions followed by dozens of simplistic micro-decisions. It might include some of the former but it’s usually not Instagrammable. I find that taking the time daily to practice gratitude for the small things changes my mood, which improves my balance. Practicing gratitude is also a way that I cultivate joy - a light that fills you with hope and faith and love.
