Vegan Chicken Style Gravy

This vegan chicken style gravy can be a staple in any southern girl’s kitchen. It is simple to prepare, delicious and wholesome. You are bound to love this gravy. Use it to top a Lentil Nut Loaf or other meatless main. Get that recipe here.

  • Prep Time – 30 min
  • Cook Time – 15 min
  • Total Time- 45 min

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of raw nuts
  • 2 Tbs. arrowroot powder (or 3 Tbs. whole wheat flour)
  • Sea salt to taste

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 4 cups of vegetable broth
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Prepare the Wet Ingredients

  • Pop the chopped onion, vegetable broth, soy sauce and oil into the blender. Blend until thoroughly mixed.

Add the Dry Ingredients

  • Add the chopped nuts, arrowroot powder and sea salt to the blender. Blend well.

Cook in sauce pan.

  • Pour the mixture into a sauce pan. Simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes.
