Stråla uses yoga, tai chi, qi gong and traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine, to help people release stress, heal themselves, and move powerfully through their lives. The form you will experience and practice is still Yoga — but you will feel astronomically better when you practice yoga from a place of ease, and focus on moving well rather than mastering poses.

Strala was designed to activate your body’s Relaxation Response – a chemical cascade responsible for overall health, healing, and wellbeing. This doesn’t tend to happen in most yoga or exercise systems, which stimulate cortisol production. When attention is aimed narrowly and forcefully at accomplishing goals — for example in yoga, jumping and pushing into poses — our body is bathed in stress hormones, including cortisol. We become chemically less able to perceive the full range of options open to us. We are far less creative and intuitive. We’re ready to survive an attacking bear, that’s about it. Keep pushing this way, and we are likely to gain more weight than we need, injure our bodies, and suffer from a variety of stress-related conditions.

That doesn’t sound like fun to me. So come join me on the mat, build up your reserve of feel-good hormones and shed the excess stress! I’ll let you in on a secret – when you approach yoga from a position of ease you will become more stronger and flexible faster than you can dream.

Relaxed, happy muscles can do miraculous things!
